FORWARD is a festival designed around advancing electronic creative culture. To that end, we’ve felt that it’s important to have a free public and educational component as an integral part of the festival. In order to provide quality programming and free access to the festival’s two outdoor weekend events (2 areas of sound, live art, aerial performance, sculptures, boutique vendor market, food); interactive digital art installations (appx. 5 this year) and the week long panel discussions and workshops (over 13) we need your financial support. If you love electronic creative culture, building community, its presence in the Washington DC community and beyond please support our efforts.

The festival runs from April 25-29, 2012.

Entranced by DC's underground rave culture, Vienna, Va. native DJ Keenan (aka Keenan Orr) burst onto the area's house music scene in the mid-nineties. In 2003, Orr began working at Metatacks Studios, the only studio in DC dedicated to Electronic Dance Music. Here, Orr became involved with XM Satellite Radio, where he and fellow DJ Dimitri Max hosted a show called "Launch Pad." On air for two hours every Sunday night, Launch Pad was broadcasted to over four million listeners across the U.S. and Canada.
Armed with the ability to read a crowd and plan accordingly, Orr is currently focusing on using music to bridge the gap between the splintered scene of DC. Bouncing from Chicago House, Baltimore Club, Electro, Disco and classics of the 80's and 90's, Orr has landed residencies at a number of clubs around the city, including Cobalt, Marvin, and Rock and Roll Hotel.
In 2010, DJ Keenan was named the DC DJ of the year by Washington City Paper, an honor which he hopes to retain in 2011. Known for clean mixing and a good ear for music, Orr makes a lasting impression on all that have the privilege to experience his set. With a constantly growing fan base behind him, DJ Keenan's arrival to the international DJ scene seems imminent.
